Thomas J. Moore is a leading voice on drug safety. He is author of two landmark books and has published numerous scientific and popular articles over 15 years’ time. He has lectured widely in university, medical, and legal forums and has testified numerous times before Congress.

His book Deadly Medicine was the anatomy of the nation’s worst drug disaster. He chronicled how tens of thousands of heart patients were killed by drugs that were supposed to treat irregular heartbeats but caused cardiac arrest. Prescription for Disaster highlights the numerous breakdowns in the nation’s system that is supposed to protect patients from dangerous drugs. His work has appeared in leading scientific journals such as JAMA and Pediatrics, and in popular publications such as the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Atlantic Monthly, and Boston Globe.

Recent work has focused on research and consulting involving drug adverse events reported to the Food and Drug Administration, as well as clinical trial and other data that characterize the risks and benefits of drugs.
